Important

They were held during the Home Office’s Tackling Drugs Action Week.

Acting detective chief inspector Nick Haggitt said: “The Home Office’s National Tackling Drugs Action Week is an important event in the policing calendar as it allows us to demonstrate to the public the type of work that our officers do on an almost daily basis.

“It also allows us to reassure local people that their intelligence does matter and that we do act on the information that they pass to us.

People often pass information to us and it appears that no action is taken. However, when the time is right, officers will take decisive action and hopefully obtain the best possible outcome.

“With the additional support provided by the use of the Special Constabulary, Local Policing Officers and Community Support Officers, and the duty response officers, Telford’s Drugs Unit enjoyed a successful week supporting National Tackling Drugs Action Week.

“The work done over the past week provides a small snap-shot of the type of work that goes on unsighted across Telford & Wrekin and I would like to reassure the public that this type of work never stops.

“We place great importance on tackling drugs related crime and people who deal in the death and misery that comes with the use of drugs will always be treated as a priority by Telford Police.”
