A 15 year old boy who was found hanged in Hadley was set to become a teenage father, an inquest heard.
Mark Richard Pugh’s body was found near his Far Vallens home on May 24.
The teenager, who had attended Sutherland School, was preparing to become a father with his girlfriend, Melissa Tomkins, 17, who is four months pregnant with their child.
Coroner’s Officer Julie Hartridge told an inquest at Princess Royal Hospital: “Mark had just left school and was waiting for his national insurance card so he could begin work.
“The night before he died he went for a meal to celebrate his mum’s birthday and had 10 pints of beer.”
Mark, who lived with his mother and step-father, was due to celebrate his 16th birthday on June 2, the hearing heard.
His body was identified by step-father Craig Clifton.
A post mortem examination established the cause of death as hanging. Telford & Wrekin Assistant Deputy Coroner Mr Paul Rhodes adjourned the inquest for 10 weeks.
