Last Sunday saw the Team Knockout and Consolation Cup semi-finals take place at The WWF Club, writes Sheila Stevens.
In the main cup, Coddon took on WWF Club A who took an early 3-0 lead thanks to J Fallows/J Morris/A Ward. D Owen replied for The Coddon 1-3.
J Fallows gave the club a further frame 4-1. K Wilson pegged back a frame for The Coddon 2-4. It was then left to D Ward to book the football club their place in the final.
In the other semi-final match Anstice played hosts to Park Inn B, Wellington, A Moore giving them a 1-0 boost before J Price and A O’Donnell put The Park into a 2-1 lead.
The hosts bounced back regaining their lead 3-2 courtesy of S Camp and A Moore. G Burrows levelled matters for The Park side three all.
The Anstice cued their way to a place in the final with a 5-3 win thanks to A Elliott/I Duffy.
In the Consolation Cup draw Beehive, Shifnal. flew into a 4-0 lead away to All Labour In Vain with wins from P Bullock/M Locklin/P Mullinder/A Hotchkiss.
N Felton and team mate D Felton responded for The Labour 2-4. The Hive’s P Bullock then gave them the frame they needed for a place in the final 5-3.
Dolphin, Woodside, had no problems in their match against Dun Cow, Trench, as they won 5-0 through the cuing of S Osborn/C Woods/P Waters/M Musgrave/K Blackham.
July 6 is the Team Knockout and Consolation Cup Finals at WWF Club, 8pm start. Match fees are as normal.
OAKENGATES & DISTRICT
INVITATION POOL LEAGUE
The quarter finals of the Team Knockout took place last week with The Duke of York, Oakengates, having a bye to the semi-finals.
Captain Webb led 1-0 through P Davies home to WWF Club S who promptly responded in kind taking the lead 2-1 courtesy of J Busby and B Copeland.
P Smallwood equalised for The Webb two all. B Guest put the club back in contention 3-2 but The Webb bounced back, running away with the match thanks to D Smallwood/L Davis/R Kattenhorn/S Wright/P Smallwood.
S Rowley drew first blood for Bridge Inn, away to Beehive, Shifnal, to lead 1-0. The Shifnal side retaliated by going ahead 3-1 thanks to the cuing of M Locklin/A Hotchkiss/M Brown.
M Clark replied for The Bridge 2-3. Wins from M Locklin and K Pugh gave The Hive a 5-2 advantage. K Genner won frame eight for The Bridge 3-5.
It was left to anchorman P Bullock to give The Hive a place in the semi-finals.
WWF Club C had no problems in their away game as they produced a comfortable 6-1 win over Park Inn, Wellington, thanks to S Worrall/J Fallows (2)/M Evans/A Lloyd/S Zaman. J Hoof was the sole winner for The Park lads.
GORGE TRADITIONAL INVITATION POOL LEAGUE
In the Consolation Cup Final held at The White Horse, LDSCC came out as champions whitewashing Elizabethan 4-0 with wins from S Bevan/L Elcock/M Randall/R Shenton.
Well done to The Lizzie for getting into the final.
In the 3-a-side semi-finals DSCA (A) produced the goods for a place in the final winning 8-1 over Kynnersley A, thanks to the cuing of C Gifford (2)/A Smallwood (2)/N Davies (2). C Lawson was Kynnerlsey’s only winner.
LDSC Jets went 1-0 down away to LDSCA thanks to an opening win from Ginette Gittus. The Jets pulled the next two frames back through A Henry and A Clarke 2-1.
Colin Gittus made it all square 2-2 for the club. A Henry put The Jets back on track 3-2.
A further win from Ginette Gittus levelled 3-3.
The Jets then turned the tables on the club as they went on to win 5-3 and a place in the final courtesy of P Cottey and A Henry.

Your Secretary will then ascertain as to how the knockouts will be distributed to all teams relevant.
