Duke of York, Oakengates, travelled to Anstice, Madeley and crashed 9-1.
They went 4-1 down early on with wins from S. Osborn, N. Wallcroft, P. Waters, C. Woods. J. Fletcher replying for the Duke.
The Anstice then scorched to 9-1 with wins from S. Osborn, P. Waters N. Wallcraft, C. Woods and K. Blackham.
WWFC/S took on Elephant and Castle P, St Georges, who promptly took the lead 4-0 courtesy of P. Baker, S. Carter, J. Mottershaw, B. Burden.
B. Guest pegged back a frame for The Club but then wins from S. Carter and P. Baker put The Eli into a 6-1 lead. The St Georges side went on to win the match 8-2 with further wins from B. Burden and teammate J. Mottershaw.
Haygate, Wellington, held Rose and Crown, Ketley, to a 5-5 home draw with wins from C. Talbot 2, D. Finch, J and S. Williams. Rose winners were P. Higginbotham, A. Loviett 2, E. Mansell and B. Simmonds.
A. Smitherman and R. Scane gave Railway, Wellington, a 2-0 home advantage over DSS Club, whose R. Ball won the next frame to make it 2-1. R. Trevor then made it 3-1 for the hosts before E. Challenor replied for the Club. The Railway had no problems with the rest of the match as they steamed on to an 8-2 win through the cueing of A. Smitherman, R. Trevor, M. Kiernan, I. Phazey and R. Scane.
Mallard drew 5-5 in their home game against Pheasant, Wellington, thanks to W. Brindley 2, S. Holden 2 and B. Thompson. Pheasant winners were K. Wilson, D. Cope 2, G. Bingham and D. Smith.
Rose and Crown, Stirchley went 4-0 down in their home game against The Bridge Inn, with wins from M. Honeywell K. Genner, S. Rowley and A. Honeywell. N. Hitch responded for the Rose before Genner made it 5-1 for The Bridge.
The Rose went on to make it 5-4 with wins from T. Coffer, N. Hitch, C. Arnold but that all-important final frame went to M. Honeywell for The Bridge, giving them a 6-4 win.
Smithfield, Wellington,, lost their opening frame to R. Perry of the visiting Kings Head, Newport. W. Gilbert equalised for The Smithy and then M. Collins put The Kings back in contention 2-1.
The Smithy then led for the first time with wins from C. McKintosh and S. Smith. The Kings were in no way deterred as they took a 4-3 lead courtesy of R. Perry and I. Perry.
S. Smith made it all square but the Kings fought back to win 6-4 through E. Keenan and Irene Whittington.
Bush, St Georges, held Horseshoes, Ketley, to a 5-5 home draw with wins from A. Kent 2, P. McGiven, P. Smith, M. Jones. Shoes winners were S. Espley, J. Hayward, M. Corbett, M. Harvey.
In the OAKENGATES AND DISTRICT INVITATION POOL LEAGUE, the sides through to the last eight of the three-a-side are: P. Wormstone, M. Pooler, J. Fletcher; P. Bullock, P. Mullinder, M. Locklin; D. Smallwood, P. Smallwood, K. Williams.
