Petition on Post office at Randlay

Campaigners are mounting a last ditch battle to save a Telford post office before it closes under a nationwide shake-up on November 6.

Protestors behind a bid to save Randlay Post Office from the axe are urging as many people as possible to sign a new petition.

A Telford councillor is among those spearheading the push.

Telford & Wrekin Councillor Ute Sambrook, who has organised the petition, said it was available in a number of locations.

The petition reads: “We the undersigned call upon Telford & Wrekin Council to take over the running of Randlay Post Office and thereby saving a very important and valuable community facility.”

Councillor Sambrook, who looks after The Nedge ward, said: “The response since I have put the petition out has been excellent.”

Councillor Sambrook said people could also contact her on 07976 100821 if they wanted to sign the petition.

People are also going around with a copy for residents and businesses to sign.

Organisers are hoping to get 2,000 signatures before the petition is handed over to Telford & Wrekin Council.
