Hundreds of thousands of pounds of illegal drugs were discovered this week in a cannbis factory set up on one of Telford’’s industrial estates.
The police raid at Stafford Park was one of the biggest drugs busts in the county..
It uncovered a warehouse on Stafford Park packed with more than 1,000 cannabis plants which formed a huge “sophisticated” drug growing operation inside.
The plants were packed into separate rooms depending on their age.
The once empty warehouse had been turned into separate rooms, housing plants sorted by age, divided by tarpaulins with a low roof to keep in the heat.
Each room, boasting hundreds of plants, had dozens of numbered electric heaters and watering system.
The cannabis growers even had their own living accommodation in the warehouse offices.
It is understood the owner of the unit contacted police after arriving on an inspection.
The operation was in full swing when police teams carried out their raid on Monday night. Two men of Chinese origin were seen fleeing the scene.
