A Wellington school has been granted planning permission for a three-bay portable classroom on the edge of its playing field by Telford & Wrekin Council.
The demountable building, with ramped access, will be put up at Ercall Wood Technology College, Golf Links Lane after planning bosses gave the proposals the go-ahead at a meeting of the council’s plans board last week.
Planning officers said the school already has three demountable classrooms next to the playing field and the new classroom would be near to them.
The site is bounded by mature hedging and is mostly not visible to people living in the area.
Planning bosses said the new classroom would be at least 145 metres from the nearest neighbouring homes and added that the impact on the playing field would be minimal.
