Dun Cow, Trench, are performing well this season and it showed in last week’s game away to leaders The Beacon, drawing 4-4 in the Telford & District Landlords Invitation Pool League.
S Osborn drew first blood for The Beacon then A Wakeley equalised for The Dun one all. P Waters put the hosts back on track 2-1.
The Dun bounced back to take the lead 3-2 through G Wright (2). P Waters levelled for The Beacon 3-3. A Wakeley then gave The Dun a point to lead 4-3.
It was then left to anchorman N Stones to secure a draw for the hosts 4-4.
Second placed Anstice, Madeley, travelled to WWF Club D, going home 7-1 winners through the cuing of S Camp (2)/N Wallcroft (2)/I Duffy (2)/A Moore. Club winner was A Birch.
Third placed WWF Club A also won 7-1 in their away game against hosts Duke of York, Trench, with wins from P Devey/J Morris (2)/L Badhan/D Evans (2)/S Stevens. T Taylor was sole winner for The Duke.
WWF Club B played hosts to Minnesota Fats going down 1-0 thanks to an opening win from J Hayward. A Hoof made it all square for The Fats 1-1.
A Lloyd put the club back in contention 2-1. A win from G Burrows gave the visitors a 2-2 scoreline. A further win from J Hayward gave the club the edge with a 3-2 lead.
The Fats then bounced back to win 5-3 courtesy of J Price/J Hoof/G Burrows.
Park Inn, Wellington, took a short trip to Sir John Bayley Club, going down 1-0 thanks to D Oliver. R Humphries equalised for The Park 1-1.
M Corbett put the club back in the lead 2-1. The Park then took control of the match cuing themselves to a 6-2 win courtesy of S Kitt (2)/R Pengelley/R Humphries/P Skeffington.
K Stones gave The Bush, St Georges, a 1-0 boost home to White Horse B, W/wood, who promptly raced ahead 4-1 through M Locklin (2)/P Mullinder/P Bullock.
The Bush replied with wins from K Stones and J Mottershaw 3-4. That all important final frame went to P Mullinder 5-3 for The Horse team.
B Kilfoyle and team mate S Zaman put WWF Club C 2-0 up away to The Haygate, Wellington, who responded with a win from P Ellis.
The club hit back to lead 4-1 thanks to M Evans/Cheryl Rowley. A Williams pegged back a frame for the hosts 2-4. The club then took the match 6-2 courtesy of S Zaman/M Evans.
WWF Club travelled to nearby Lamb Inn, W/Wood, where they took an early 4-0 lead with wins from C Nolan/N Hitch/A Hill/K Genner. C Jones replied for The Lamb 1-4.
N Hitch produced the match clincher for the club 5-1. This was followed up by a further win from A Hill 6-1. Final frame went to The Lamb’s skipper J Welch 2-6.
Rose & Crown, Ketley, went 2-0 down in their home game over Labour In Vain who led 2-0 courtesy of N Pugh and W Felton.
R Yates replied for The Rose 1-2. D Felton then made it 3-1 for the visitors. The Rose were in no way deterred as they battled their way to a 5-3 win thanks to R Yates/S Edwards/P Stokes/A Loviett.
It was a local derby at The Football Club as the S team took on their E side going down 2-0 with wins from D Worrall and T Anslow.
The S team levelled thanks to B Guest and G Turner 2-2. Wins from K & D Worrall regained the lead for the visitors 4-2.
G Turner won frame seven for the hosts 3-4. The E team then ran out 5-3 winners thanks to L Hayward.
VIDEO INVITATION POOL LEAGUE
Through to the semi-finals of the singles knockout are P Waters/L Badhan/D Cope/S Osborn. Next monthly meeting is on December 2, 7.30pm start at The Football Club.
OAKENGATES & DISTRICT INVITATION POOL LEAGUE
C Wedge and N Forgham put Duke of York 2-0 up home to Park Inn, Wellington, whose S Kitt won the next frame for them. M Pooler replied for The Duke 3-1.
The Duke conceded the next frame to The Park 3-2. The Park lads, true to form, cued their way to a 7-3 victory courtesy of R Humphries/S Kitt/P Skeffington/S Williams/J Hoof.
Captain Webb played hosts to WWF Club C gong down 1-0 with an opening win from G Turner. The Webb then took the lead 2-1 with wins from P Smallwood and K Williams.
A Lloyd levelled matters for the club two all. The Webb fought back regaining the lead 5-2 courtesy of R Adams/D & P Smallwood.
B Kilfoyle pegged back a frame for the club side 3-5. Without preamble The Webb went on to win 7-3 thanks to S Wright and P Amphlett.
WWF Club D won the maximum 10-0 in their home game against Pheasant, Wellington, winners being K Wilson (2)/A Williams (2)/A Birch (2)/B Turner (2)/D Owen (2).
Sadly the Pheasant side had to concede six frames due to player shortage.
Granville, Hadley, travelled to Sir John Bayley Club where S Rowley put them 1-0 up before J McCunnin equalised for the club 1-1.
The Granville then took the lead 5-1 with wins from N Hitch (2)/I Copeland/M Honeywell. Andy Hill replied for the club 2-5.
A further win from S Rowley secured the match for the visitors 6-2. Frame nine went to the club’s Allen Hill 3-6. Final frame went to A Charman for The Granville 7-3.
M Corbett drew first blood for Wellington Arms home to the Beehive, Shifnal, who flew into a 5-1 lead through the cuing of M Locklin/A Hotchkiss/P Bullock/P Mullinder/K Pugh.
D Trevor responded for the club 2-5. A further win from M Locklin gave The Hive the frame they needed to lead 6-3.
Final frame went to S Jones for The Arms team 4-6.
WWF Club B had no problems in their home game over Trench Tavern as P Dix set the precedence for them leading 1-0.
Veteran B Wedge made it all square for The Tavern one all. The club then cued ahead to a 6-1 winning lead through M Watkins, an eight ball clearance from the break for R Seabury/J Price/S Blackwell/P Dix.
G Brookes won the next frame for The Tavern 2-6. Further wins from R Seabury and team mate M Watkins gave the club an 8-2 scoreline.
