A great carp session on Middle Pool gave young angler Rikki Lee. He fished by te inlet to take two Commons, one of 6lbs and one of 17lbs 4ozs and one Mirror Carp of 17lbs 15ozs.
It can only be hoped he has more in the future. Bailiff Dave Carpenter said how excited the lad was.
The fifth round of the Shropshire Winter League was fished on Sunday at Hampton Springs Fisheries and Maver had yet another win team wide to win the league emphatically.
Local teams on the day: ‘F’ section - J Humphries (Rod & Gun) 34-0-0, ‘J’ section - D Webb (Rod & Gun) 38-8-0, ‘E’ section - C Stringer (Oakengates Tackle) 24-14-0.
Oakengates stay third in the league despite a 5th on Sunday and Rod & Gun stay fourth in the league. There is one round to go.
