Sunday, November 16 saw the first round of the prestigious singles knockout take place in The Telford & District Landlords Invitation Pool League.
Through to the final 16 are P Bullock/P Dix/P Waters/S Camp/G Parry/M Locklin/P Devey/D Stokes/A Moore/J Morris/K Blackham/M Musgrave/W Kirkpatrick/L Badhan/C Arnold/D Oliver.
VIDEO INVITATION POOL LEAGUE
Granville, Hadley, cruised into a 5-0 lead in their home game over The DCSS Club with wins from S Rowley/I Copeland/M Clarke/K Genner/A Honeywell. S Studholme and B Copeland replied for the club 2-5.
A further win from M Clarke ensured the hosts of a 6-2 winning lead. M Challenor then pegged back a frame for the club 3-6. Final frame goes to A Honeywell for The Granville 7-3.
Haygate, Wellington, held nearby Pheasant, Wellington, to a 5-5 draw with wins from C Talbot (2)/S Williams/A Williams/D Finch.
Pheasant winners were C Morris/D Smith (2)/D Cope (2).
Railway, Wellington, played hosts to Elephant & Castle A, St Georges. They were on top form racing ahead 4-0 courtesy of I Phazey/M Kiernan/A Smitherman/R Scane.
R Bristowe replied for the visitors 1-4. Further wins from M Kiernan and A Smitherman gave the hosts a 6-1 winning lead before N Foulkes won frame eight for the Eli lads 2-6.
R Trevor then made it 7-2 for the hosts. Final frame went to R Bristowe for the visitors 3-7.
Mallard travelled to WWF Club S taking the lead 3-0 with wins from W Brindley/D Weaver/P Brindley. The club side responded in kind with a win from B Guest 1-3.
The Mallard then took complete control of the match leading 7-1 thanks to G Fallon/P Van Beek/W Brindley/D Weaver/P Brindley.
Last two frames went the club’s way with wins from B Guest and team mate M Hebden.
Kings Head, Newport, went 2-0 down away to hosts Rose & Crown, Stirchley, courtesy of C Arnold/J Mills. The Kings fought back to level two all with wins from I Parry/M Collins.
A win from E Keenan put them ahead for the first time 3-2. C Arnold levelled matters for The Rose 3-3. The Kings then cued their way to a 5-3 lead courtesy of B Perry and M Collins.
N Hitch pegged back a frame for The Rose 4-5. That all important final frame goes to E Keenan for the visitors 6-4.
Wellington Arms led 1-0 in their away game against hosts Anstice, Madeley, with an opener from G Johnson. The hosts proceeded to take the lead 2-1 with wins from P Waters and D Evans.
C McKintosh and F Hotchkiss put The Arms back on track leading 3-2. The hosts were in no way deterred as they took the lead 5-3 courtesy of N Wallcroft/P Waters/D Evans.
C McKintosh then reduced The Arms’ deficit 4-5 and K Blackham went on to give The Anstice the frame they needed for a 6-4 win.
P Baker and K Stones put Elephant & Castle P, St Georges, 2-0 up home to Bush, St Georges, who promptly took the lead 3-2 thanks to J Fallows/J Wright/P Smith.
The hosts fought back to take the lead 4-3 courtesy of K Stones and J Mottershaw. The Bush, without any hesitation, cued on to a 6-4 win thanks to L Badhan/J Wright/T Hayward.
WWF Club A went 2-0 down away to Horseshoes, Ketley, whose M Corbett and J Hayward set the precedence for them before the club levelled two all through M Evans and B Neville.
S Espley put The Shoes back on track 3-2. Again the club hit back taking a winning 6-3 lead courtesy of M Harvey/S Espley/J Hayward. Final frame went to the club’s B Neville 4-6.
GORGE TRADITIONAL INVITATION POOL LEAGUE
Leaders LDSCB took on Pheasant and went 1-0 down thanks to J Busby. S Darrock equalised for the club 1-1.
M Woolliscroft put the visitors back on track to lead 2-1. The club fought back to a 3-2 lead with wins from A Henry and P Cottey.
Again The Pheasant equalised three all with a doubles win from J Busby and M Woolliscroft. It was then left to A Henry and partner A Clarke to secure the club of a 4-3 win.
Second placed White Horse All Stars took a comfortable start away to White Horse Knights leading 3-0 with wins from D Bedworth/C Griffiths/R Dack.
The Knights took the next two frames 2-3 through the cuing of M Porter and P Jones.
The All Stars then galloped away to a 5-2 win through J Mills, C Griffiths/R Dack,C Pritchard.
P Clarkson saved face for Madeley Cricket Club losing out 1-6 to visiting LDSCK, winners being C Gittus/C Lawson/S & M Drake singles, C Gittus, S Drake/M Drake, C Lawson doubles.
LDSCA whitewashed Elizabethan with maximum 7-0 in their away match.
Bulls Head Hitters travelled to Cressage Club where they secured a 1-0 lead through S Lane. The club hit back taking a 5-1 winning lead courtesy of N Rowlands/D Gill/T & G Jones singles, G & S Thompson doubles.
The Hitters managed to win the final doubles through J Vines and N Pugh.
Rachel Nicholls gave Pheasant Ladies a 1-0 home advantage against Dawley Social who promptly took the lead 2-1 thanks to G & R Clements.
Tracey Rutter equalised for the Ladies 2-2. True to form, the club control of the match going home 5-2 victors with wins from N Davies singles, G & R Clements/C Thorpe, N Davis doubles.
OAKENGATES & DISTRICT INVITATION POOL LEAGUE
J Fallows and A Hadgilouca gave Football Club C a 2-0 boost home to Duke of York, Oakengates, who responded through M Pooler 1-2.
The club forged ahead 5-1 with wins from G Turner/B Kilfoyle/J Fallows. Wins from B Jones and N Forgham lowered the deficit for The Duke 3-5.
The club then cued their way to a 7-3 win thanks to S Worrall and M Evans.
F Club B trounced their D team the maximum 10-0 in their away game winners being S Blackwell (2)/P Dix (2)/R Seabury (2)/A O’Donnell (2)/J Price (2).
Park Inn, Wellington, had no problems in their home against WWF Club S as they quickly took a 3-0 lead with wins from S Kitt, A & J Hoof.
B Guest replied for the club side 1-3. P Skeffington won both of his frames for The Park 5-1. The club fought back to win the next two frames courtesy of J Busby and Steph Heinrich.
The Park went on to win the match 7-3 through the cuing of S Williams and team mate R Humphreys.
Lamb Inn, W/Wood, travelled to Captain Webb whose B O’Neill gave them a 1-0 head start.
The Webb were in no way deterred as they took control with a 5-1 lead courtesy of R Adams (2)/P Davies/P Smallwood/P Amphlett.
K Goodwin pegged back a frame for The Lamb 2-5. With winning uppermost on their minds The Webb ran out 8-2 winners thanks to D & P Smallwood, P Amphlett.
Bayley Club had a 10-0 home win as visiting Pheasant, Wellington, had to concede six frames.
Wellington Arms were on top form as they cued their way to an early 6-0 winning lead with wins from M Corbett/Nat Trevor/Stuart Jones/R Kirkpatrick/T Mullholland/Steve Jones.
P Stokes replied for the Tavern side 1-6. The Arms then won the next two frames courtesy of D Trevor and R Kirkpatrick 8-1. Final frame goes to M Higgins for The Tavern side.
