The days when Shropshire was invaded by thousands of prisoners of war and displaced people from Eastern Europe will be recalled in the second of a series of talks hosted by Wellington History Group.
The evening will also see the launch of the second issue of the groups free magazine Wellingtonia.
Group treasurer Phil Fairclough will be speaking about When Europe Came To Shropshire, 1939-1950 at Wellington Civic Offices at 7.30pm on February 11.
Mr Fairclough has researched the days when both German and Italian PoWs were housed in prison camps across Shropshire, both in wartime and in the immediate post-war period.
He has also unearthed the stories of the East Europeans who came to the county in the aftermath of the conflict.Admission is free
