AFC Telford United will welcome football league opposition as part of their pre-season preparations with Port Vale making the journey to the New Bucks Head.
The Valiants finished 18th in League Two last season and will make the short trip to Telford on Tuesday, July 14.
The Bucks face rivals Shrewsbury in the Shropshire Senior Cup Final four days later with Conference club Chester City also on the agenda.
Bucks Chairman Lee Carter said he was delighted with the pre-season programme which also features matches with Market Drayton Town, Nuneaton Town and Wellington Amateurs.
The final friendly will be against Welsh Premier League side Llanelli whose under 19s will take on AFC Telford’s Youth Team prior to the first team clash. The Bucks will visit Llanelli in a return fixture next pre-season.
Meanwhile Carter is confident the squad can finally clinch a place in the Conference Premier next.
He said: “We have a lot to look forward to and I am already starting to get excited about the new season.
“We have re-signed most of last season’s squad and I know that we are in talks with one or two very good players with a view to supplementing what is already a very talented squad. There is no doubt that we will be in the mix again.”
Danny Carey-Bertram became the latest player to commit his future to the club after he signed a deal last weekend.
And it is not just on the field where the Bucks are hoping for success.
Carter added that off the field the club were looking to the different challenges that lie ahead.
He said: “The board and trust are putting a massive amount of effort into ensuring our plans for the future are delivered.
“We have gained a great reputation through our partnership work with the Local Authority and other organisations, but our emphasis needs to be focussed on further developing the areas that are currently working well, whilst looking to revitalise areas that perhaps are not delivering the best results for the club.
“We have always stood on our own feet as a business and our new way forward is just taking that a step further.
“We must ensure that the club becomes more sustainable as a stand alone business and less susceptible to change within our partner organisations.”
