A group of adventurous fundraisers are walking the length of the River Severn to raise cash for a Wellington charity.
Members of the Horsehay Order of Buffallos are walking 210 miles from Snowdonia in Wales to Bristol for Wellington Cottage Care.
The five walkers began the challenge on Sunday and reached Ironbridge on Monday where they were greeted by the town crier Sir Percy Simmons who is a member of the of the Cottage Care support group.
The group hope to reach their destination on Friday.
Chris Peake, secretary of the Wellington Cottage Care Support Group, said: “They were absolutely shattered when they arrived In Ironbridge.
“The are really putting in the effort to raise money for us.”
The walk is to pay for a patio for the Cottage Care Centre.
After the walk members of the Horsehay Order of Buffallos have volunteered to build the patio as well.
The group has been “absolutely ringing wet” in the rainstorms and are suffering from blisters but have so far raised £50 in their collection buckets from passer-bys.
Terry Phillips, leader of the group, said while on the walk: “Sunday was a hard day but we are doing it. It is quite an experience but it is good and is going well.”
