Fundraisers will need a head for heights

Adrenaline junkies with a head for heights are being urged to abseil down a tall Telford building for charity next month.

Daring dog-lovers and courageous cat owners are wanted to walk down the side of the 50m House of Fraser building in Telford Town Centre to help raise money for veterinary charity the PDSA.

The charity, whose head office is in Priorslee, is offering adventurous animal lovers the chance to abseil on Saturday, September 19, to raise funds for sick and injured pets.

PDSA Fundraising Co-ordinator, Elizabeth Thain, said: “Adrenaline junkies wanting to take part are urged to sign up fast as places are limited.

“Abseiling 50m down the House of Fraser building is not for the faint hearted but, if you’re up for the challenge and want to raise funds for a worthy cause, then why not sign up to take part?”

The abseil is already proving extremely popular and organisers want to see as many local people as possible. No previous experience is needed as trained professionals will be on hand to instruct people.

Registration is £10 and the minimum sponsorship is £100.

There will be a PDSA stall on the day with lots of PDSA goodies available to buy. Spectators are very welcome to watch.
