Two Telford GPs will be putting on their trainers next week when they run a half marathon in aid of a Wellington charity.
Nicky Warner and Jim Milligan, of Donnington Medical Practice, have signed up to take part in the Lake Vyrnwy half marathon on September 13.
They are running the race, which is around 13 miles, in aid of the Wellington Cottage Hospital.
Mr Milligan, who has been a GP at the practice for nine years, said: “The staff at the practice were really surprised when I told them I was running.
“I used to run and I have done a half marathon before but it was about 20 years ago. I haven’t done any for a long time.
“Nicky does running and she persuaded me to go in for it. I am looking forward to it, although I do have a few aches and pains from the training.”
The pair have been training hard since May and they chose the nurse-run day care centre for their charity because Mr Milligan used to be one of the trustees.
