Jet fuelled rock on a Monday night

Review

It may only have been a Monday night but Jet successfully brought rock and roll to Wolverhampton.

It is always hard to write a review when you leave a gig and all you can think is ‘they were great’ but that was the case after Jet’s performance at the Wulfrun Hall on September 14.

The last time I saw the band play was V Festival and so it was brilliant to see them play in a smaller and more intimate venue.

It was the first time I had been to the Wulfrun Hall in Wolverhampton but it did not disappoint.

It provided a setting which allowed the band to communicate with the audience.

It also allowed the band to hear our song requests and they were more than happy to mould their set around us.

Jet, who are from Australia, seemed to be at home in Wolverhampton and played a wide range of tunes from their three albums, Get Born, Shine on and Shaka Rock.

By far the best song of the night was Are You Gonna Be My Girl, which always gets the crowds going.

But they also played some of their other tunes including Get Me Outta Here, Skin and Bones, Shine On and of course their latest single She’s a Genius.

The night was fantastic and it really felt like the band were enjoying the audience’s company as much as we were theirs.

It was sad to see them finish and we were all pleased when they came back for an encore.

Jet are a great band to see live and the Wulfrun Hall provided the perfect venue for their style.
