A councillor fed up at the disappearance of two disabled parking spaces is threatening to paint them herself.
Councillor Gill Green, from Madeley, says she has had lots of people coming to her concerned over the disappearance of two disabled parking spaces in the town’s Anstice Car Park.
The frustrated councillor is now calling for the council to repaint them before she does it herself.
Councillor Green said: “I have had quite a lot of residents coming to me asking what has happened to our disabled spaces. Come on, what about it council? We are in the middle of a credit crunch but do I have to go to paint the lines on myself?”
In 2005 the car park was said to have been sold by Telford and Wrekin Council officials to developers who are now in the legal process of leasing it back to the council. As a result, no one is claiming ownership and so the disabled spaces have been left unmarked.
Councillor Green said: “Who is responsible for making out the disabled spaces? At the moment it is nobody.”
