Fancy dress outfits give children a lift

Children at a school in Dawley had the smiles put back on their faces this week with the arrival of a huge donation of dressing up clothes.

Mrs Stokes made the gesture after hearing how the school was broken into last term and all of the children’s dressing up outfits disappeared.

Head teacher at the school, Sue Dawson, told the Journal: “The children love the new costumes. They were very excited to get them. It is a very nice gesture and very appreciated.”

Mrs Stokes said: “My children go to the school, and when I went to pick them up I saw how upset they were at the loss of their favourite outfits. So, we decided to donate about 30 costumes.”

The children were so thrilled with their Toy Story, princess, fairy and pirate costumes that they made Mrs Stokes a great big thank you card.˜
