Two television stars are set to bring sparkle and laughter to Telford this month when they switch on the shopping centre’s Christmas lights.
Stavros Flatley, The Greek dancing double act from Britain’s Got Talent, will be performing their hilarious routine at Telford Shopping Centre on Thursday, November 26, before flicking the switch on the centre’s festive lights display.
And three lucky youngsters will get the chance to meet the celebs in an exclusive competition in next week’s Telford Journal.
Tracy Hadley, marketing and events manager at Telford Shopping Centre, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have secured Stavros Flatley to launch our festivities in style this year.
“They’re a phenomenally popular act and I’m sure they’ll go down a storm with our shoppers and visitors.”
Stavros Flatley, father and son duo Demetrios and Michalakis Demetriou, describe themselves as two fat versions of Michael Flatley with a Greek element.
Their act came third behind Susan Boyle and dance act Diversity and the pair have performed around the world.
Stavros Flatley will be joined for the shopping centre switch on by a number of special guests, including pantomime stars and Beacon Radio breakfast show hosts Ryan and Vicky. Father Christmas will also be parading around the Centre before opening his Grotto in Sherwood Square.
Miss Hadley said: “We’re anticipating this year’s event will be extremely popular so the stage and activities will be taking place outside in the Ash Grey car park.”
The entertainment will start from at 4pm and parking is free from 5pm. The Centre is open for late night shopping until 8pm.
