These lucky Telford Journal readers have been grinning from ear to ear after meeting two Britain’s Got Talent stars.
Stavros Flatley arrived in Telford last Thursday, to help turn on Telford Shopping Centre’s Christmas lights.
Telford Journal competition winners Maia Allen-Preston, aged eight from Hadley, Leona Perry, aged eight from Arleston, and Lewis Jones, aged 10 from Wellington, met Dimitri and Lagi Demetriou before the show.
Lewis had come dressed in Stavros Flatley’s signature wig and the pair were so impressed with his efforts they dubbed him ‘Mini Stavros’ and invited him on stage to take part in their performance.
Lewis’s Dad, said: “He had a really good time and the next day he got a mention in assembly. He really enjoyed it.”
Lewis said he had the time of his life.
Leona’s mum, Kath, said: “Leona had a fantastic time. We all enjoyed spending time talking with Stavros Flatley and Leona was delighted to be on stage to help them switch on the Christmas lights.
“They made it a very special day for her.”
Maia’s mum, Sarah, said: “Maia was very excited about being a competition winner and enjoyed every minute she spent with Stavros Flatley, especially getting to help switch on the Christmas lights. She thought it was excellent.”
Dimitri told our competition winners: “It was wicked to meet you and it is because of you we are here.”
