Laughter filled the theatre all night long when audiences arrived in to watch this year’s Telford pantomime.
Snow white and the Seven Dwarfs is now showing at Oakengates Theatre @ The Place for the festive season.
People young and old arrived at the theatre to see the show which was full of gags, romance, song and dance.
The performance saw audience members showered with sweets, crisps, magic tricks and water guns and the actors were not afraid of getting everyone involved.
It was a delight to hear so many youngsters in constant giggles which was so infectious that everyone in the theatre seemed to have a smile on their faces.
Characters were heard singing their own versions of chart hits and a team of dancers provided extra energy on stage.
The seven dwarfs were played by masked children to voice over dialogue. The youngsters’ silent acting was done well and they were also very cute.
The lead roles were taken by Victoria Scott as Snow White, Fay Purcell as the Wicked Queen, Callum McArdle,as Prince Richard and the comedy duo Freddie and Eddie were played by Neil Wheatley and Jason Francis.
Victoria gave an animated performance similar to the Disney film and her singing and acting brought a convincing innocence to the role.
Fay Purcell got into her role as the wicked queen well with fantastic facial features, a wicked laugh and a great stage presence. You could tell she enjoyed her character’s many traits.
The comedy duo brought laughter with their obvious and sometimes groan-worthy jokes. They were good fun and added sparkle to the panto.
Christmas without a pantomime is like a cake without a cherry on top and people who love all things festive should not miss out.
