It’s not just girls who want to have fun – so Severn Hospice fundraisers invite men across the borough to slip on their high heels and best frocks for the charity’s first ever drag race.
Telford Town Park will be the location for a glamorous, men-only event on Sunday, May 16, as a rival to the charity’s successful Midnight Walk.
Sarah Hawthorne, fundraising officer at Severn Hospice, said: “We’ve had lots of comments from men who wanted an event of their own to balance out the women-only Midnight Walks.
“The event will start with a beauty parade so we can admire the fantastic drag outfits the men will be wearing.
“High heels are allowed for the parade, although everyone will need to put their trainers back on before they start to run.”
The drag race will be a 3.5 mile fun run around the Park and prizes will be awarded for the fastest runner and for the best dressed.
It costs £5 to enter the drag race and all runners will then be asked to raise sponsorship for Severn Hospice.
Men are urged to visit The Severn Hospice charity shops in Telford when choosing their attire.
