Tee-mendous! Young golfer sinks two aces

Shropshire golfer Jamie Brittain has secured a remarkable 67,000,000-1 sporting achievement – two hole-in-ones in the same round!

The 19-year-old froJamie Brittain from Telfordm Telford achieved the remarkable feat during a round at his home club of Wrekin. Jamie’s first ace came at the 12th hole, and he and playing partner Neil Milton watched on in amazement when he repeated the feat on the 17th.

But there was disappointment for Jamie’s grandfather Gerald Brittain, who joined the pair for the first 11 holes before walking into the clubhouse just seconds before Jamie’s stunning exploits began.

“I’ve been playing golf since I was 13 and never had a hole-in-one,” said Jamie, one of Shropshire’s leading amateur golfers who plays off a handicap of plus one.

“It was quite a weird feeling when it happened on the 12th and then for it to happen again on the 17th was just unbelievable.

“The only disappointing thing  was I didn’t see either of them go in the hole because they are both uphill holes.”

Wrekin head professional Owen Evans admitted all the talk at Wrekin had been of Jamie’s achievements.

“It’s a phenomenal achievement,” said Evans. “Not many people in the world have ever achieved two hole in- ones in the same round – not even Tiger Woods.

“A lot of people go their whole lifetime without having a hole-in-one so this is an unbelievable achievement.”
