Work on a 178-home development in Shifnal, which will include a new health centre for the town, will begin in January next year.
And the first properties will be ready for families to move in to by next summer.
Outline permission for the housing development off the A464 Wolverhampton Road was given in March 2009. Last week, Shropshire Council’s south planning committee (Bridgnorth), granted developers Taylor Wimpey approval for reserved matters on the appearance, landscaping, layout and scale of the development.
The conditions include that the medical centre be provided within six months of work beginning on phase one of the development.
Thomas Beddoes Court, just off Park Street on the southern end of the town, is a collection of 166 houses and 12 apartments ranging from two to five bedrooms.
Of those 70 will be affordable homes.

Shifnal Town Council had recommended the plans for approval but objected to the positioning of the medical centre which it says is wrong for the town.
Neither the Highways Agency nor the Environment Agency had any objection, but seven objections from residents had been received.
They were concerned the street layout reflected poorly designed high density estates in Telford not appropriate for Shifnal. They also expressed concern about flooding, the loss of trees and impact on privacy.
